Art Director, Partnerships

Responsible for all design services as they relate to Partner Marketing campaigns, both to and through Partners. I help operationalize Partner campaigns of many forms: Avalara, Partner Branded, and Co-Branded. I work closely with Partner Marketing leaders who manage key Partner Ecosystems: ERP, E-Commerce, and Accounting to develop campaigns to reach their customers and prospects. I design for channels and programs of all tactics: digital/display, app store listings, direct mail, social, landing pages, webinars, presentations and more.
With a desire to consistently optimize creative, I am also actively exploring new ways to influence Partners and their customers as well. Creative for sponsorships, users groups, and sales enablement are areas of exploration. I am responsible for the entirety of the Partner Marketing creative development motion, determining the right resourcing model to meet the growing demand – by allocating resources across our internal team, using contractors or outsourcing and managing agency partners.

Actively managed multiple creative projects simultaneously while aligning with key strategic stakeholders to optimize marketing assets. Designed primarily for demand generation efforts, creating assets that directly influenced acquisition goals across the Prospect Marketing team.
Work
Designing to amplify the Avalara brand and its partnerships
Digital
Strategic design for all digital media: landing pages, app listings, social media, display, and more. Engage cross-functionally with stakeholders and copywriters to continuously optimize designs and messaging.
Campaign-in-a-box
Helped found a new suite of self-serve "campaigns-in-a-box" - a uniquely positioned through-partner campaign package to target specific industries and solutions. Each campaign required custom marketing assets for all channels, all housed within a detailed 20+ page interactive guide. Produced 8+ custom campaign collections in the first year. Direct mail
Develop Avalara branded and co-branded direct mailers for audiences at every stage of awareness of Avalara products, solutions, and integrations.
Sales and marketing enablement
Establish a variety of new creative (primarily long-form content requiring layout design) to serve sales and partner management enablement needs, including pitch decks, takeaways, guides, toolkits and more.
Impact
Leading as senior designer for partner marketing campaigns across channels
Design
Lead design from concept to completion for partner-related social media, display, email, direct mail, and trade show campaigns. Fluent in compliance and legal guidelines for marketing in the tech industry, designing and directing creative assets with messaging and visuals that are compliant and true to brand. Achieve a deep understanding of Avalara’s product set and Go-to-Market strategy as it informs many of the design decisions daily.

Daily management of all creative project workload and assignments through Partner Marketing. Develop processes and discover efficiencies to streamline partner creative production. Direct in-house creatives and manage agency relationships.

Skilled at interpreting Partner design systems and understanding how to bring out Avalara’s strengths in partner ecosystems (user groups, app store listings, etc). Collaborate across multiple teams to drive executions of all types (web, video, social, print, etc.). Channel creative expert, driving strategic design optimizations for assets across platforms.
